Manly Man Movember: Knitting beards with the Happy Seamstress

How will you be keeping your face warm this winter? Not with a scarf, but a beard! A few months ago I picked up this hilarious beard knitting kit from the Happy Seamstress:

I love beards, and I love to knit, so this is pretty much the perfect product for me. I gave my first beard to my friend Angela, who looks quite stylish if I do say so myself.

Making this beard I discovered that I'm a terrible stitch-and-bitcher. Add beer to the equation and I should really just learn to put the knitting needles away. Anyway, despite the difficulties and one or two beard-throwing tantrums, I think it was ultimately a success. It also keeps your face incredibly warm, and I may or may not have sat around my house wearing a beard for some time.

My beard model, Angela, is in a band called The Miss Bennets, and there are few things funnier than these girls performing while wearing knitted beards. The Miss Bennets are using their love of beards and moustaches for a good cause this month, and they will be donating the profits from the sale of their single "Manly Man" to Movember Canada.

"Her friends think it's weird, she only dates guys with beards, but she can't get enough, of that sexy, man scruff......."

So check out The Miss Bennet's Movember campaign on Facebook, and you can buy "Manly Man" on iTunes or at CD Baby. Better yet, buy the whole EP, Ballads from the Boudoir, and discover the hilarity of "Sailor" (also known as SailWhore) and "I'm Too Young to Have Your Baby, Baby (Randy Andy)".

To finish off this post, please enjoy a picture of my favourite moustache: the one on Eugene Hutz's face. SO HOT.
